Job Description:

Job Title: Prepared Foods Department SupervisorThis role plays a crucial part in the success of our Prepared Foods team, providing leadership and support to ensure seamless day-to-day operations. The Supervisor is responsible for supervising and delegating tasks to team members, working closely with the Prepared Foods Trainer to build a high-performance team, and ensuring all cases and shelves are clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated.Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and delegate tasks to Prepared Foods Team Members, ensuring effective communication and a positive team environment.
  • Training and Development: Work with the Prepared Foods Trainer to train team members in a manner that builds a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
  • Operations: Assist in training new team members, utilizing learning checklists and training materials, and ensure all necessary breaks are given.
  • Customer Service: Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs, directing team members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers, and respond promptly to customer needs and questions.
  • Performance Management: Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations, and consistently communicate and model WFM vision and goals.Requirements:
    • Experience: 12+ months retail experience.
    • Lifting: Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
    • Work Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.Whole Foods Market is an equal opportunities employer and values diversity in the workplace.Physical Requirements:
      • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
      • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
      • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
      • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
      • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
      • Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
      • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
      • Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
      • May require use of ladders.
